I had a 10g FOWLR that I moved into my 55g. I left the sand and the water, unplugged everything, and kinda forgot about it for a while. Maybe 6 months or so. Now I would like to put the sand in my 55's refugium. What would be the best way to do this? The sand is clean and no algae, but I'm not sure about the stagnant water. Should I rinse it in a bucket of water? Leave it wet or dry it out? or just put it in there? I have read about baking it in the oven, but I'm not really wanting to do that, it seems like a real PITA. I see it as just sand, but I'm just wondering if its gonna have ill effects if i dump it in with just a rinsing.

I firmly believe in having an "excuse" handy at all times, so you go right ahead and say, "It's all Tracy's fault!" ;)
