okay, in this tank, i have 2 clowns, a regal tang, a manderine goby, and a 6 line wrasse... they have all been in there together since the beginning, i kinda want some more movement in the tank, i was thinking something like 2 purple fire fish and a yellow tang. would this combonation work?

The fire fish are an easy fit. Yellow tangs can be a bit aggressive especially towards other tangs. You do have some space so I would read up before adding another tang. There are many tangs that are less aggressive than the yellow. I love the Sailfin myself. Just my thoughts.

i love the looks of sailfins too, however their potential adult size keeps me away from them.... what else could i put in there that would be an easy fit that will get a bit bigger with some bright colors?

I think you would be ok with a yellow tang. I really like mine. He is always on the move and a striking color. Flasher wrasses are very cool as well. You may also consider a Fridmani Pseudochromis. I have never had one but they look awesome. I had some purple fire fish and they alway seemed to be hiding.

The Cole and Chevron tangs are smaller less aggressive tangs that I like, although haven't owned yet. My lfs just received a bunch of juvenile Coles tangs that I like. I am going to give them the rest of the week and check back in prior to the Weekend to ensure they are still looking good.

If you are sold on yellow the fox face is hardy and mostly yellow. Again I haven't had one. I have seen them in several reefs tanks but have read that they can nip.

Anthias seem very popular with reef keepers as well.

The bottom line is there are many to choose from, you just have to figure out your own preferences and choose accordingly. Please do share on what you decide.

One thing to be aware of, is that fox face fish have venomous spines in their dorsal fins.
