What type of protein skimmer would you recommend for my 58 gallon oceanic tank. I presently have a hang on the back ecosystem for the tank. My tank has been in operation for 4years and my only problem now is green algae growth. I keep that in control by frequent h20 changes. I do have some red slime algae starting that I am trying to erradicate with red slime algae remover. My hang on the back ecosystem occupies most of the space in the back. My live rock and coral are well established.

What type of protein skimmer would you recommend?>

Thanks for your input

It needs to fit your tank somehow. Have you considered going with a sump instead? If yes, then an Euroreef RS-80 would be good. If you have to use a HOB skimmer, the Aqua-C Remora or Remora Pro would work.

You might consider other types such as the octopus recirculating skimmers. While they don't hang on the back, they can be run externally without a sump with the aid of a close by shelf, or something of the likes.
