So I am refurbing a foreclosure to live in and it is a MESS! I want a big tank in the basement or the top floor but the largest doorway is ONLY 31 inches wide!!!
What should I do? I have considered building the tank where it will go. Any ideas?

You really want a tank taller than 30 inches. It will be a pia to reach the bottom. If not deeper that that you just turn it on side and slide in.

That's a thought... we were thinking 36 Tall 48 wide 60 long. guess we could back it down to 30. Wonder what bigger fish would think of that.

Ive kept some pretty large 13inch tangs in 24inch depth seemed real happy. I'll try to dig up some pictures.
If you're refurbishing it anyway why not put in a larger door to get the tank through??

Or a bigger/new window.....
Someday you will want to take that tank out though!!

Same scenario still works, but it would be a reinstall then.:) My suggestion speaks more to the dimensions the OP gave. I would be more concerned about the "top floor" location.
