View Full Version : Nano Reef Rectangular weed tank v's a cube
I have been thnking about size for the nano. I already know I will be using T5 HO over it. I am thinking no longer than 24" and no higher than 16. I owuld like to go with a Low Iron glass (trying to finda reasonable price) tank or I guess acrylic again. I might try to stay with a standard foot print though for ease of buying a stand. I might do a hand on Deltec Skimmer (if I can find one cheap on RC) if not then it is a small sump and a little in sump skimmer for this tank.

Yeah, Elos Minis are too nice for weed tanks!
That would have to be a table top acro tank :)

Like what??
That their builds can be sloppy and inconsistent.

What about Aquarium Warehouse?
I want a starphire front pane and they do not do that last I knew.

ive heard mixed reviews about glasscages too... every tank ive ever seen of theirs was pretty nice though. im planning on buying a rimless low-iron cube from them myself once i can hide away enough cash... im really in no hurry for it though.
I mean the prices are good. When are you thinking about getting yours from them?

What is low-iron glass? I've seen that referenced here and other sites as well.
regular glass has a green hue to it because of the iron content. Low iron is nearly as clear as acrylic.
I am going to give them a call in a week or so and ask about a24*24*16 tank.

Mike- You should check with miracles in glass. Depending on your time frame, we might be able to order our tanks together and go for a pickup.
Ok I will check with them. What is your time frame looking like JIm?

I need to raise some funds. So it could be little while. Are you ready to go now?
NO I can wait until you're ready :)
