So a few weeks ago on another forum I was in communication with a reefer in California that was looking to sell a pretty cool ORA SPS pack.
(Forum and person left out on purpose)
And for sure not here!!!!!!!

And never really having any nice SPS other than experimenting with an occasional birdsnest, I thought the price was fair for what he was offering.

So I went through with the deal.

On the first delivery date a 10:30 am arrival was scheduled, but with no delivery.

I contacted the seller and got the "oh, man I totally spaced it, don't worry I'll through in another frag to make up for it!"

Okay fine **** happens, we moved on and scheduled another delivery date. See because of my wacky schedule I can only receive deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Which wasn't a problem for the seller.

Long story short 4 times I got the oh, man somehting came up, or I had too much homework, or my boss wasn't at work to print me the label blablablabla.

So here we are today with our 5th agreed delivery date. I sent him PM reminders to make sure and get ready and ship Monday for a Tuesday (today) delivery, and you guessed it nothing.

Not only that but no responses to my friendly reminders Sunday, Monday or my inquirees for todays excuses.

Is it fare that I am ****ed off. I mean how many times can one person have a brain fart and forget to send out $175 dollars worth of coral?

Obviously, its not the mod's problem but should I envolve him?
Should I consider legal action?
Make a report to his local police?
Im lost what should I do?

Did you pay with paypal? If so there are channels provided that you can go through. I haven't done it so I don't know much about it though.

You need to pull the plug on that guy. I think he is scamming you. You need to file a paypal claim within a month. Did you use your cc to fund the paypal balance? If so, you can file a claim with the cc company and get your money back right now. If not, it is more difficult to get your money back as paypal puts a hold on the sellers account, but if he already took the money out they cannot give you the money back.

Yes, unfortunately you were scammed. Like others have said, if you paid via PP, file a complaint. It may or may not work, but it's better than doing nothing about it.

And yes, you should be upset. Sorry about your misfortune.

Ya I really screwed my self. He is a reputable guy on a few different forums as far as trades and sales go, other stuff not so much. I felt good about it. The communication was good, we got along. And seemed to have similar interest and personalities. Up until three days ago, nothing. I hope he is just so embarrassed he forgot again that that's why he isn't getting back to me right now.:bang_head::exploding_mad::cuss:

Oh, and here is the worst part. It wasn't paypal.

It stinks when this happens man. I hope you can recover your money from this guy.

Western Union
Most of the scammers use the Western Union payment system because once money is sent, there is no taking it back.

Sorry to hear about this Rob. Like others said, and from personal experience, paying with a cashiers' check isn't the best method. Once it's paid for and in their hands, there's really nothing you can do.

If I were you, I would give it til Noon and then I would start posting threads about this transaction on all of the forum(s) this person is on. Nothing like a little peer pressure and public smearing to get people to respond.

It sounds like you did all the right things (except cashier's check) as they are a reputable seller, you gave them ample opportunities to send, etc.

Plus, these people need to be called out to help other reefers avoid the same crap you've had to go through with them.

I hope it gets resolved for you one way or another.

Ya, Im a little too much of a trusting guy. Maybe I rely on Karma too much.

All is good though I got ahold of his best buddy and he is going to take care of shipping the corals for me!!

I guess the dude has fallen on hard times and spent my shipping money and thats why I haven't gotten anything yet.

I'm the same way Rob...a little too trusting at times.

Glad to hear that you're going to get the goodies in the end though.

Good luck Rob. It sounds like it will all work out in the end. I just hope his friend throws in an extra large frag of something you didn't pay for just for all the trouble and headache you've gone through!

Sorry Jim 1" frags on plugs aren't that exciting. But don't worry as soon as they sprout a bit more, there will for sure be pics.
