Figured I would share a pic or two along with some general info on the new forum.

Quick rundown on equipment list-

2 15k 175w MH lights
2 t5ho lights 10/actinic
CPR hob skimmer
hot magnum running carbon
2 little fishies phos reactor
100w heater
2 maxijet 1200 and 1 900 on wave timer
No sump/fuge

Most recent test results-

Ammonia- 0
Nitrite- 0
Nitrate- 5ppm
Phosphate- undetected on api phos drip/vial tester
Calcium- 360- need to keep up on those waterchanges....
Alkalinity- 9
PH- ??- gotta get a test kit for this still....

I have slacked a bit over the summer.

I have lots of zoas, some SPS, a couple chalices, some candy canes and a few mushrooms. I have a bit of coral being baby sat for me till the tank switch. (an upgrade is in the works)

I was planning on waiting for the new tank to get set up before I bought one. Couldnt help myself when I saw this one though-

It is absolutly beautiful
Been living well and eating at the fish store for 2 months
Is only about 2" long, fat and happy
And had a price tag of $18

How could I pass this up, right? It is my favorite fish after all. He/she will be niger trigger #4 for me. By far the smallest so far. Very happy with the results af his behaivior in my reef, and with my fish and inverts in the tank.

Hey Chris, reef is looking good. Nice color combinations too. I had no idea the Niger gets that blue. I think I want one, but I'll research it to see if it gets along with my array of fish.

Is that a sunset monti I see too? Let me know when it's big enough to frag and we'll do some trading. The Hyd is doing very well. Looks cool in the actinics. Thanks Bud.

Its a 34 gallon. 24l x18w x18t.

Loved this size tank for a few years now. Gonna add a few inches tall, and a foot longer on the next tank. Thinking about adding 6 inches in width also, but still being considered.

Unfortunatly, almost everything is small frags right now. My new tank build has been financed exclusively on sales/trades of coral from my tank. Just pretty much kept tiny peices of my colonies that I have been colecting the past couple years.

Everything is fragged down pretty small, but I figure it will be cool to start the new tank with all the small frags and watch them grow again.

Figured I would post an update- cleaned the tank an pumps, stole some rock out, rearanged corals, getting ready for the future move into the big tank. Changed out the 14k (expired) and changed out to a xm 10k. Kinda yellowish green....

Been a while....this tank was torn down a few months ago- 1-20-10, but forgot to update....ooooops!

So- Sir patrick- what did you do w/ all those swet frags from the 10 gallon- you might ask?

I reset up the 34g cube of course!!! This tank is alive again!

I set it up differently this time though. Its a frag/growout tank now. Great spot to colect and growout stuff for this tank, that is also on hold-

Just before set up on this- I found out my wife is having a baby!! That means we need to move....and need to sell our house to do so....cant sell the house w/ that big ol tank in the living room! Its on hold.

The 34 growout/frag tank should make sure I have plenty to stock the 65g breeder though, when its time!

All new- 34g cube specs-

Equipment-

34 gallon cube (24" long x 18" tall x 18" wide)
home made stand- the original, but chopped down to 21" tall- took out almost a foot!

2- CPR bak-pak skimmers- Imo, 1 just isnt enough w/ these skimmers- maybe 2 will work?

HOT magnum- running carbon

2 GLO fixtures- t5ho, 2 bulbs each, for a total of 4 bulbs
2 glo actinics, 1 glo 10k and 1 wavepoint reef wave bulb

all glass aquarium submersable heater- needs upgraded....

2 maxijet 1200's and 1 900 all conected into a wavemaker- all modded-

Dude sweeeeet! You got it back up!! I notice some super sick chalices in there. I really like the red eyed one! What ever happened to the huge Hollywood?

I see that you moded all your pumps like in the video, does it really make a noticeable difference?

How those palys doin' I gave you at the Lansing swap?

^ gettin ready to join the "cube club"- right now.

Maxi mod- huge difference! Not sure if I like it for my smallish tank(on a wave timer) or not yet...Major flow comes out of the right side, or the left side, depending on what direction the impeller is rotating. On the wave timer- it will change- which is great on a large tank, but not on my small one. This mod on the timer will randomize the flow 6 different ways instead of 3! I had to unplug the wave timer- till I have time to figure out a flow patern. Just one modded 900 is running the tank right now- and running it well! Great mod- but probly for a bigger tank. You see my sand island? It wasnt intentional...

Chalices- I have those 2, and the not so giant anymore stunner- along with a tyree blue. The hollywood isnt so huge anymore- but is growing fast! I broke alot of it for the annarbor swap. Its almost recovered all of the growth back already- beleive it or not! Reminds me, reeferob- you need to stop over some time soon.

Palys are doing great. Seem to be on par with the other moderate (not fast, but not slow) growers in the tank. The frag is 4 polyps now. Was it 2 or 3 when I got it from ya? Gonna use this thread to keep track of all polyp growth here pretty soon. Kind of a growth log of sorts, for me to look back on.

Also- got the "cadillac" of frag racks- From Andy, over at The Blue Glow!!!

Picked up a Captive breed Clarki clown too!!!

Couple tank changes went underway today-

1- I built a new screen mesh tank top.
2- Fragged a bunch of zoas. Broke in the Inland saw today!
3- Removed all but 1 acrylic frag rack.
4- Built a really cool rock formation, using a drill, pex pipe and 2 part epoxy.
5- Set up a cool live rock scape in the tank.
