this is a full tank shot of my 30 gal hex..it has been up for 2+ years and all of the sudden i got a hair algae bloom so i took everything out and scrubed the rock and rescaped the tank..it is empty except for the frog spawn and a anemoe im trying to save..i think that one is a lost cause though..water is a little cloudy still..i will take more pics when it clears up.

Those aren't anemones, they're Rhizotrochus typus, commonly called "rhizos".

No, I just finished a diy calcium reactor and put it on a controller, went crazy and dumped all the CO2 into the tank and the ATO barrel went dry and one of the dogs passed away all while on vacation about 2500 miles away. :(

The Blasto on the left I got from the Trop and it was 3 Polyps in early 2004...now its about 8"x6"x5" high hundreds of Polyps, The monti in the middle is a Tyree idaho grape I got at the lansing swap last year it was 1"x2", and is now 8"wide x 12" tall...and I've fraged a bunch from it.......

Yah it's a Merletti, It's been thru a lot but it always pulls through, I had somthing go through my tank late last summer and wipe out all my LPS's about 15 different kinds of Acans and my prized neon candy cane's but it never even closed up.........

Yep, that's her lair. The cave goes up about 6" into the rock and she loves to post there come nightime.

I've been working in this for 1 1/2 yrs now , just needing to tweak it a little and it will be my show tank. I have been working with jeff and chris @ reef solutions on my water paramiters, had a nitrate problem hit my tank and i lost all my candy canes and brains which were my prize collections now i have to start collecting all over again. If you know any one with a large tank 250 or larger complete( no live stock ) for sale i would be interested in talking with them, I want to use it for my frag tank.

Here is my 80g box, almost a cube 36" x 30" x 18". Still needs some rock work completed for the image in my head :

Here is my attached 40(38)g mellow tank. Lots of rocks to move here and some sand to add. Inhabitants so far, Bangaii Cardinalfish, Purple Firefish, and 2 Pink Streaked wrasses still at the shop. I want to add a couple of Ghostfish, Pipefish and/or seahorses. Plant some more gorgs and algaes. I built it this way as my original plan was for a pair of Jawfish also and I will probably get them in spring. A little overstocked but looking at what is going in there and being attached to a fuge and my main, it should be fine. There will be 4-6" sandbed on the right and rubble on the left side.

My feeding process is quite in depth but basically the tank is fed every hour a combination of Fauna Marin foods, Reef nutrition foods and several phyto concentrates. Someday I will get the time and put together a thread detailing it all on here. It has been on my To Do List for months now. :stupidme:

My first saltwater tank ever. Its about 3 months old. Most of the coral stock came from schminksbro of Reef Paradise. Its a 35gal hex. There are fish and critters in there but there all sleeping at the moment. Okay so I made my weekly visit to Reef Paradise and spent way to much money, consequently I had to rescape my tank to make room.

It has taken a while to get up and running but its finally done. Partially because of a newborn and great lakes aquariums took 2 months to make the tank. The tank is GLA 125 Wide with Starphire glass on the two sides and the front. They built me a custom overflow that comes out the back rather than the bottom. I also had them use black silicone, which they did an awesome job on. I need some help setting up my kalkreactor if anybody has any advice to offer me. Right now I am just dripping it in with a valve but it either fills the refugium up to quickly or doesn't keep my pH where I want it. I am also having an issue with my drain. I put a valve inline to slow the decent of the water since its falling 10 feet but it seems to fill my filter socks up and it spills over the top of them. The refugium is setup for a dual drain. I added a T and split the line into both drains however it does the same thing for both sock filters. I have played with the valve and I am at my threshold where if I close the valve anymore my pump will return the water faster than the overflow can drain. Any help would be appreciated. I am a total noob to saltwater tanks in general so if you see something that seems weird let me know I like to learn.

I was having an issue keeping my pH up on a 35 gal in my office so I bought this C02 monitor to confirm my suspicion that the house wasn't getting adequate ventilation. Sure enough it was near 1500 ppm C02 and when I opened a window near the tank my pH went up drastically. Well this tank is near a sliding glass door that doesn't seal very good so the C02 is very low.

Do you have a BV (ball valve) on the out-put side of your pump? If you ad one there and throttle back a little then play with your return to the sump this might help. It's kind of hard to throttle one (out going to the sump) without the other (return from the sump)

On the kalk, I have that tide into my ATO for me no problems YMMV

Here's my 1,000 gallon outdoor "aquarium". At least a dozen or two fancy koi, breeding bullfrogs, snails, and the occasional blue heron looking for a meal. If only they'd eat the damned water lettuce.
Every Spring, a mallard pair stays for a few weeks, but never sets up house. Maybe next year!

My Koi eat any plant I put in there. There is a waterfall straight back that you can't see because of the Japanese maple branch hiding it from this view but it is fed from a stream that flows from a small upper pond that I grow plants in. No Koi up there.

Wonderful! I have never had issues with fish eating the plants, except for the duckweed which is put in the pond for that purpose. I feed 'em pellet food every night during "the season", though.

Thanks Miz!!! This time around I really took my time when it came to the aquascape. Plus the larger tank footprint helped with spreading the rocks out more. Now I just need all the new acro frags to grow in so it doesn't look so empty.... reefer problems ;)
