View Full Version : Lighting Odyssea Lights?
Ok so give it to me straight. Whats the good and bad on these lights. I have a T5 48" 4x54W being delivered today. I had planned on upgrading the bulbs soon to a name brand. Actually the USA ones in the for sale forum here. It was the best I could afford right now.
Thanks
Ok new light showed up and love the look it gives the tank over my PC. The bulbs came paired acitnic, acitnic, 12k, 12k. I stagered them A,12k,A,12k

Well, I know that a couple of their fixtures have started house fires, and that since they are not UL listed your insurance will not cover the damages.

the fire issues were a long time ago and have since been resolved.

So they are quality lights and now UL listed?? The only reason a company would not have the lights listed is if they are of questionable quality. I personally like my home and my belongings and would not trust them to this company. I have heard of issues within the last two years, just leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, but hey to each his own.
Well from what I am finding out about them is that they did fix the issues with them, but had to change the name of the company because of all the bad publicity. I have not read anything about them causing any fires or hazards since. I have it plugged into a GFCI and will see how it works out.
Thanks for all the input
