We have implemented a new feature that you may not have seen on other reef forums. You will notice the reefing forums that a new image appears at the bottom of each post which looks like this.

http://www.captivereefs.com/misc_images/helpful-post.png

This will allow users to see which posts they found the most helpful. Unlike the reputation system, this system does not count for or against a particular individual. Any it also does not have a negative value. Simply if you found the post answered the question well, you can give the post a thumbs up. This will help others, especially newer reefers, to identify which posts to read and follow.

I hesitate to use any rating systems due to the potential for abuse and ill will among members. If we decide this system doesn't work for us, we can always remove it. Please feel free to let me know your opinion. I openly welcome input from members...after all this is your community.

I think this will be very helpful to the newer reefer out there for sure.. there are actually a couple of threads I would have liked to given a thumbs up to (now I can go back and do so)

great idea in my opinion.

I like it, it only promotes the good. It should be very helpful.
