So last night on my grow out tank my skimmer decided to go bezerk. It starting producing these micro bubble that were flowing out of the skimmer into the sump. Turned all the water in the sump a milky white color from all the bubbles.
I had not added a single thing yesterday. The only thing I did to the tank was change out my filter sock.
Today after leaving it off all night it is still doing the same thing. But in addition no matter how it is adjusted it is overflowing in the collection cup.
Air line checked, water entry and pump are all clear and okay.

Anyone have any ideas?

Grow out tank is a 25x25x12 rimless with 2 inch crushed coral bed. Sump is about 20 gallons with about 20 pounds of rock and rubble. No light, just skimmer, rock, return pump and ATO sensor. Skimmer is the ASM MiniG with mesh mod, has been running for atleast 5 weeks with out a hitch.

Your not using soap to wash your filter socks are you? Are you running the rinse cyle with the washer empty prior to washing your socks? I would run some carbon and change it frequently until the problem subsides.

Nope this was a brand spanking new sock just got it in the mail. I did rinse it for about 2 minute prior to putting it in the tank.
I'll also add that there is not smell or residue like a soap would leave. Also there is no larger size bubbles that would coinside with soap. I have added some new carbon as it was due.
Thanks Andy.
