What time of the day do you do your water changes?

Day?

Whenever I have time generally in the afternoon on Wednesdays or Thursdays when I have the time off.

I do mine close to the time that the day lights go off. Seems to help the fish calm down from the stress of the WC.

This is where you should plan a sump if you upgrade.

You can then change water from the sump and never bother the fish!!

I like to siphon out detritis while doing my water change.
So doing it that way wouldn't help with that.

I have always found that good flow prevent build up that would need syphoned out of the DT. I just keep a couple of powerheads down low, issue solved.
