Anyone else around here suffering from extremely dry hands?

Mine are cracking, and itching from this weather. Im nervous to put any lotion on them as the hands are in the tanks constantly.

Anyone know of a reef safe moisturizing lotion?

As a pharmacist I would recomend using eucerin at night. it does not have the perfumes and ect that others do. If you have not used you will find out it is a thick cream. Your hands are drying because weather and they are in the tank all the time lol.

Thanks Paulo, I have tubs of that stuff all around the house. It doesn't work that well for some reason. I have had multiple doctors recommend it for me, and of course the kids. It makes them feel better but they still get kinda ashy on the top and my cuticles crack like crazy.

But you think its okay to have on my hand and put my hand in the tank?

Anyone else use moisturizer regularly and not experience any issue?

wash your hand right after they come out of the tank if you can. I get dry hands to this time of year.

+1 on the eucerin cream. It really works.

Vaseline will moisten them and it is pretty inert. I have read that you can lubricate pumps and such with it.

That a good suggestion and reminds me of a LFS worker who would put Pam kitchen spray on diagonal cutters.

I have two fingers that are particularly prone to this (not sure why). My hand gets dry but the skin on these fingers cracks and peels. It usually happens when I am in the tank a few hours (like I was a few weeks ago finishing the rock work). I have them covered now with an occlusive dressing that is water proof. This should keep them moist enough to heal up! I have been dealing with this nearly three weeks.

I prefer Cetaphil CREAM (tub o'cream) over Eucerin. I don't think it's quite as greasy. I get super dry skin, but then I also stand in the shower for 30 minutes...so I think I might deserve it.

Ah, yes bag balm! I can get that through my work. Bikers use it on their shammy so help with irratation.

Did you know bag balm was actually created for chaffed cow utters? LOL

Aquaphor, I have a nice big tub of that from when I had my tattoo done!
