I'm happy to announce Clive Bentley, more widely known on the reefing boards as "Evil", is our newest member of the subject matter experts here on CR. Evil's primarly expertise is with LED lighting and aquariums.

LED lighting is a hot topic these days in the reefing community. With the patent issues involving commercial LED options, many reefers are electing to DIY their own LED light fixtures. Evil is a great resource for general LED lighting questions as well as specific projects you are working on.

I am very honored to have him join us here on CR.

Thanks everyone. The purpose of this forum is going to be answering all your LED questions, and I would like to keep it to that subject. While I'm sure the primary use here is going to be for me to answer questions fielded by you, I would like this to also be a place where discussions about the technology and it's uses continue between the members here. Discussion like that is what advances our understanding of the technology.

So with that said, lets get things started :)

I'm going to post my LED Guide that I wrote on Nano-Reef here in a little bit to get things started. It's a work in progress and will be updated as new information comes about. I do still need to complete a few sections, but it's a good primer for those who are interested in the technology.

You gonna be around for other lighting advice? From what I have seen ( and witnesed) you know alot about more than just leds.

Just not to the led point in my reefing experiances yet....but looking forward to your advice on other types of lighting!

Yeah. Lighting has been a facination of mine for a long time. I will be trying to help out in other areas of lighting, but not in this forum. I'm trying to keep this one to specifically LED.
