Hey Evil,

I would like to accent a few areas and increase lighting in a few others. The tank is lit with 20K halides (2-250 and 2-400) and is 72-36-24. What would you recommend (I am not a DIY) for spot lights?????

I'd through some of these up in there with the halides.

They are larger than I thought they would be which is probably a good thing. I could use 4 of them for sure.

It's certainly a good option for accenting. With all the different color and lens options, I'm sure you can come up with a solution that will give you the results you want.

I am looking at building a 24 bulb array with the Cree XR-E bulbs and meanwell drivers. It is amazing some of the tanks I see with these as primary and accent lights.

They are pretty versitile. I have 4 over my 40 breeder and I'm growing sps. It's just a different look than most are used to. The coverage isn't as complete, but it creates a more natural looking appearance IMO.

I have looked at some on RC and found yours as well. Most are really cool looking tanks. I have all SPS in my 270. What I might do is put some over one area and see how things do. Am I also to understand that the Cree XR-E series puts out significant PAR? Everthing I read (the RC thread is huge) says that the high powered LEDS are pretty powerful as far as the PAR ratings are concerned.

Yes, very high PAR in the right situation.

Take a peak here to see PAR plots I made
