I think the right side was nipple down. I cant remember now, and then the left was nips up.

you can clearly see the color difference, the bulbs were both 14k.

hrm - I'll have to look and see which way I just installed my new 20K MH bulb

I have had this same issue before. I went nipples up and it corrected the problem. I think you want all bulbs to be oriented the same as well.

Here is the warning Ushio/BLV prints on the packaging:

"The lamp should be used only in appropriate fixtures, which should be equipped with protective glass cover. Fingerprints should be wiped off with a clean cloth soaked with alcohol to prevent their penetrating into the quartz glass. Double-ended lamps must not be operated with internal exhaust tip in downward position."
