Yes that is correct I said work nano. Why work you ask? Because it on my "desk" at work. My boss loves the idea just not sure his boss will. But we only see his boss once a year or so. ( between you and me I dont think my boss has told his boss about this yet)

Any way I am going to throw my gauntlet down into this contest too! Why not? Right!
First off Specs.
12x12x12 custom glass tank ordered from Reef Paradise.
Filtered by a rio nano skimmer hob filter combo thingy.
Additional flow provided by a maxijet 400 which I may hook into a 2 littlefishes reactor.
Lighting provided by an Evill66 LED retro bulb 20K ( this is going to be a true test to see if it will grow corals or not)
Will be a mixed reef ( I dont know how mixed it will be before the end of the contest)
10lbs of LR
6lbs of LS (wanted to go black and white but couldnt find what I wanted.)

I set this up on saturday 02/06/10 Pics are from Last night. I will post a pic or two this weekend with the I luv CR and date for tomorrow. I also pulled out a piece of rock. Pics you shout Ask and ye shall receive!

Sweet little set up jamie, I wish I could have a tank on my desk... thought about it, but I figured the salt creep and water splashin around would ruin the interior on my ride even more

I appear to be color blind lol. Tank is cycled (dont think it did or will really) added a purple firefish, 2 nass snails and a cerith. Next will be corals I have a two polyp frag of rpe to go in another two polyp frag of another zoo no idea what it is. A small less then 1/2" frag pink birdsnest, a 3/4 frag of green spongodes, I think thats it for now. I will be putting this stuff in on thursday so pics this weekend.

Added a xenia frag today just a small one regular old pom pom. Everyone at work was going " look its alive! its moving, breathing" then for the 100th time I had to tell them they are alive, and they are not plants, yes they (some of them) can move ,they all eat, no the shrimp isnt dead its a molt, yes I know the short fat coral on the bottom ate the molt, No you cant feed the fish, And yes that is a hermit crab and it will grow. :duh: You would think I work at a preschool. lol

Well its time for an update.
First the bad news.... ever heard of a cleaner shrimp climbing out of a tank? No? me either I found it on the counter behind the tank tuesday morning to late ofcoarse. The spongodes bleached it turned grey but still has great polyp extension I moved it to a less lighted spot. And one polyp of my RPE is just gone over night. I had some hair algae show up and I think the worst is over now. Had to do a little rearanging but it looks good. ( at least I think so)

I had a peppermint that would ride around on the side of my floating thermometer... but never on the top or leave the water at all... so to find it behind the tank is definitly odd.. wonder if someone had their hand in the tank and the cleaner tried doin some cleaning and it freaked em out lol

As far as the missing RPE... check for blue astreas thats what I am 99% sure got mine! :(

I had issues with the stars in my 30g which is why I now have to buy a choc chip star every 2 weeks. (harliquin shrimp) The stars decimated a huge colony of tubbs blues and another one that had a really cool morph. No stars present in this tank. It almost looks like it just came unglued and rolled away. No one has taken blame for the shrimp incident thats a strange one. On another note no one likes the lobo and they want me to replace it with something more interesting. I told them money talks. Gonna have to check the rules. Think maybe a few more zoos.

One of the guys at work got it for me. (sticker) I'll ask him where. Yea still like the lights just wish I had a way to test par to see where what when so on, you know? I saw the tables that evil listed just not sure how it applies here.

I've noticed that zoo's under LED exhibit longer skirts. Would you agree or are you just rocking some flow in there?

No flow is not really strong. I thought that the skirts on most of the zoos look really long too. I was planning on upgrading the MJ400 to a 900 on the reactor to get more flow.
I found the RPE that came off the frag plug but I cant get it unless I take the rock out so it stays looks happish where its at.

Long story. Lets say it had to do withmaintance (not on the tank) and a letter to corprate. My boss wants me to put above the break table but I think its still going to be an issue, easier this way.
