I'm setting up a new HQI biocube (http://www.captivereefs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7390) and would like to add LEDs for supplementation.

I'd like to find some type of clip on blue led for actinics? Looking for some thing that will attach to the halide light maybe on that ledge that sticks out of the bottom?

I'm thinking I would like 3-4 3 watt leds clipped onto the backside of that halide pendant though. Perhaps even split with 2 blue/ 2 white on dimmers to get a good dusk to dawn balance.

I also am still considering the strip light from superbrightleds.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2FWFLB96.htm). There is room to mount it under the top plastic edging.

Is there anything out there that you can recommend to mount nicely onto the halide pendant? I think it's about 8-inches long (would need to measure for sure).

There isn't anything commercially produced that will do what you need that I know of, so DIY might be your best bet. Can you get me some pictures of the area you are looking to mount them to so I can get a better idea of what you have to work with?

Jim - he's been working on some LED actinic add-ons for the Sunpods - they may also work in your instance as well if they ever make it back to market.

I will get some better pics and dimensions this evening. Not sure if it is exactly the same, but the pendant is very very similar to the Coralife clip on fixture.

Jim I recently ordered two of these, and was completely blown away with how nice they are. I put one strip over my frag tank and it illuminates the entire tank very well!

How long did it take to come? Do you think it would be over kill for a 24 gallon with 6 blue lunar lights already?

Led lights for cars (http://www.ledlightshub.com) are best found alternative source for the old energy consuming lights, they last long as they have a better working life about 50000 hrs much better than old forms also they do not harm environment and are available in many colors as Red, Green, Blue, White etc.
