So, I restarted my 24 gallon I once had in the past. Long story short, I sold it to a buddy about a year ago cuz I set up a 75. I would then take down the 75 and stay out of the hobby for a little while. Once I found out he was taking it down I knew I wanted back in. So I got a full set up, running with LR, Clownfish and some inverts all for $90. Anyway, the tank is a 24 gallon aquapod, 70 watt halide, upgraded pump, Maxi 1200 for flow.

Livestock:
Clownfish
Peppermint shrimp
Hermits and Crabs
Mowhawks
Acans
Sweet blue paly from reef solutions
Moonstone Favia
Pimple mushroom, possibly a yuma, idk
Nuke red mushroom

Here are some pics! It was getting late and i there were starying to close a lil, so the pics aren;t all tha great, I'll update soon!

That rock work in that tank looks like there will be plenty of real estate for some cool corals! Gonna watch this one grow!

Just a little blurry, but ok thanks!

I plan on keeping Zoas (a lot of the "designer" ones), acans, and mostly cool frags so I can have a good variety. Btw, currently I'm using a ebay halide bulb that ws $9, so I'll have to see how that works for me

Love the aquascaping, its similar to how my 29 bio cube is set up. Great start. I got the same blue paly last week its sweet. Like the acan. Keep posting as the tank grows out.

Yeah that scape blows me away everyday. I was always horrible at it and im amazed n how good it turned out. Um....on fish, first off I'm going topless so the eliminates a lot. But my gf wants a pink spot goby (i think thats the name) so I think one of those and then I also want something tiny like a neon goby. After those 2 idk what I really want to get.

Man you got me all excited when you said going "topless" but then I remembered we are talking about fish tanks, not women!!

You should get in touch with Jim and get some of his mesh tops. Then you can "protect your investment" in fish and get what ever you want. Should definitely get something that is gonna cruz in and out of all those cool nooks and crannies!

Keep the updates coming!!

Haha yeah sorry  Oh I'll have to look in on that. Is there thread on here bout them? I just hate it cuz the glass gets so dirty so fast and yeah I do want some "crusier" fish, like some wrasses or something.

Update: Everything seems to be doing great so far. All corals and fish are doing awesome. My blue paly already has a baby and I can see the mowhawks popping some babys as well. Both acans are opening up huge and everything eats like crazy. I recently got a 3 and 1 baby polyp duncan and today added a Pink spot goby (a type of Watchman), so I'm back to the glass top once again. But all is well!

Ueah no problem. I did a lot of little water changes gthe past few weeks to get ALK and stuff right and I think it paid off. I'll get more pics up once I get stuff placed and attached where I want them. Have had no time lately!

I got my blue LED strip I ordered off of Ebay today. It's amazing how nice your coral look with that on the tank. Colors change and more colors pop out! It's really unfair, but sweet!

Is this a Yuma? or just a pimply mushroom?
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii144/mslade249/24%20AP/DSC00079.jpg

Oh, and I also attached some of the frags to a piece of LR because my inverts would knock stuff over. The rubble gives it some support. Is that what most people do or just me?

Sir Patrick

I also attatch frags to live rock- unless they are meant to go on a frag plug.

Nice pics. Got one of a full tank shot w/o flash w/ just the leds on?

Nice looking start. I love the scape!

I think your pimply mushroom is a yuma.

Regarding frag attachment, I tend to like plugs for smaller frags. When I am ready to secure them to their permanent location, I snap the bottom off and have a nice flat piece that I can load up with superglue.

You should start a Reef Showcase for your tank, that way it shows up on your postbit each time you post. (To do that, go to your UserCP and it's the first thing on the list.)

I got a bunch of new coral yesterday. This acan is one of them. I came home from work and found it eating a lady bug!

Changed a lot of things with this tank. I was having a few problem getting it off the ground, mainly ALK. But that has gotten better and things are doing good. I ordered a new bulb (current) to replace the crappy ebay one that I think the coral hated. I also got a Aqua C Remora Nano HOB skimmer that is doing some work. I also got my frag tank going and put a lot of the coral in there and it seems to be doing a lot better, im guessing because that tank has a 150 phoenix bulb. So pretty much this tank is gonna be the display tank so I'm working on getting everything up to par again. I also added a blue and gold Blenny that is doing great.

Hey ocho , are you having any heat issues with the 70 w halide ? When I had my 29 BC , I upgraded to the 144w pc retro fit and upgraded the fans to combat the heat. I was just curious.

Yeah I kinda am. The main problem is that the tank is in my room which is hot to begin with. Also in that room is a frag tank with a 150 halide. So far this summer, heat has been an issue already.
