On the inside? I grab my Spiny Urchin and drag him across the glass.
Outside? I put peanut butter all over it and the dogs lick it clean.
Naa. really? I use my mag float for the inside, and for the outside, I have a microfiber cloth that I spray a little windex on. The windex loosens the salt, and I flip the microfiber over and woosh it away.

In a spray bottle mix 25% white vinegar, rest water. Spray on and use a terry cloth towel.

Paper towel will break up if you have to scrub and i dont like the windex cause its a chemical, Im a worry wart and worry about it getting in the tank. The vinegar wont hurt anything. Not sure windex would hurt anything either but never chanced it.

I am afraid of windex so I use water and paper towel. Vinegar is a good idea as well.

I use windex on occasion- but I make sure its the last thing I do on the tank fro the day, and dont spray it anywhere near the tank. I spray it on the paper towel, far away. Then go clean the outside of the tank.

I use plain old water and a squeegie from the shower. Works great for me. Never thought of the vinegar that would work also. but the squeegie is a must for me. I also use a magnet cleaner for the inside, it also helps keep the outside clean as well.

A lot of good reccomendations. Yeah I am very careful with the windex too. I'm gonna try the Viengar and possibly the squegee and water, I heard that works well too.

I use a hand towel to soak water off the glass* (little to no wiping) and let the little bit of remaining water dry. To deal with dried streaks and drops, I wipe them with a dry section of towel then buff with my thumb or the heel of my hand. Try it...you'll be surprised how your tank shines!
*I have a glass tank... I'd assume this method works on acrylic but I've not tried it.

I typically spray Windex directly on the tank and wipe clean with newspaper (lint free ) it holds together better then paper towel and leaves a nice streak free finish
however if I don't have any news paper sitting around I use paper towel

vinegar and water mixed at 50/50 in a spray bottle and wiped with newspaper.

You mean they really still print newspapers??????
I use a soft cloth and just keep rubbing until the streaks go away. If its really salty I wipe it down with a damp cloth and then do the soft cloth polish. I was warned years ago by a long term really accomplished reefer about Windex so I've never gone that route on any of the six tanks I've had.
One of them was a 50G Oceanic tank that had the finest glass I've ever seen, hardly a trace of green and it was so easy to polish up. The man who bought the tank a couple of years ago stopped by to see me at the swap in Lansing and he said exactly the same thing about it. What a great little tank!

never had issues on any of my tanks and been using Windex for many years now
I have heard of it causing acrylic to cloud though due to the ammonia in it

I keep it simple - water in a spray bottle with either a cloth towel or paper towel.

I used to use Windex on the freshwater tanks without any problems, but once the first saltwater tank was up and running I stopped using it on any of them, which turned into a big deal since we had 7 tanks in the house at the time. Another person from MR told me I didn't need to worry about those kind of chemicals since I had a nano with a top on it but I didn't want to take any chances. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who can't get away with anything so if Windex was going to be a problem with anyone's tank it would be mine. The microfibre cloths work really well, although I'm a fan of that polishing small spots with my fingertips, and now that I've only got the two tanks it doesn't take all that much time.
