This was my tank less than a year ago, before my big crash that took clams, monti digi and a large green monti cap.

This is the same tank today...

Your tank was gorgeous before the crash, and IMO is STILL gorgeous today. Evidently patience is a virtue when it comes to saltwater, I'm still learning  I hope that one day our tank will be as beautiful as yours! :D

Awe...thanks for the kind words... I learned all the stuff I needed to know from "good peers". Just being a member of the CR family has you on the right foot!

David that sure was beautiful, and you lost that beautiful monticap in there? Is that the same one you have a piece for me from? I would have cried for days! Then again, I probably wouldn't have had time with trying to save everything possible that I could. I can just imagine you like a crazed man! You have a fantastic tank now though, so I'd say you are catching up!! I just took the time to upload a bunch of pictures I took from our tank into my personal gallery. Go take a gander when you get a chance. We have a very happy tank, and everyone likes it's neighbors! That takes a lot of work and effort to figure out who likes to sit next to whom without causing toxin wars. Lots of reading helps in that area also. Everyone should do some reading before you stock your tank!! .......Angel :)

Angel,

The cap you like is still there and HUGE in the second picture. What I lost was a large GREEN cap that too was impressive. It is in the first picture, on the left, under the purple monti digi. There is a green slimer now where that cap lived.

I agree about stocking practice. I've voted for TOTM's just for that reason. It is imperetive that we know which corals AND fish to "mix and match". It is part of our "deal" as reef keepers (read God of the glass box) that we practice good husbandry. This is why I've tried, and still try to keep all the shrooms and stuff out of the now SPS / Clam dominated tank.

Lemme go look at your pics now!

Dave....yes, the lighting in the top picture is 2X 175W 10K XM's. Neither my corals nor my own eyes likes them. I replaced them after a couple months and put the Ushio 10K's back in. I AND my corals are much happier for doing so. While some people enjoy the DE's and the SE in 250 or better, I found the SE 175's at 10 K to be MUCH too yellow.
