Sapphire aquatics or aqua c makes a skimmer i believe

saphire is out of business. I'm considering a tunze nano skimmer or aquaticlife internal protein skimmer.

one of the former owners of euro reef also has a line of skimmers for nano tanks....can't recall the name/site right now though.

The tunze wont fit, id have to cut the top. Anyone ever use the aquaticlife skimmer? It looks like it would fit. Id have to find a new spot for the heater though.

You have to get the custom collection cup from http://mediabaskets.com ...then
it should fit. Video here: http://mediabaskets.com/Demo_Rack_with_Tunze.html

Well thats cool, how much is the custom collection cup going for? I can only find the price of the skimmer itself.

I think it's around $40-50. So you'll have some jing wrapped up into it.

And used ones get snapped up fast...I'd buy one if I could find one. I'm wondering if I will be able to fit the tunze in the back compartment with the back magnets for the fragstations in the compartments.

Thats probably going to be a tight fit. That is sweet setup but man its expensive. Just as much as the cube itself.

yeah...best bet is to keep an eye out for used. Seen the whole set up sell used for around $100.

If I were you, I wouldn't get a skimmer for the 29BC. I went years w/o having one, & my tank ran fine. As long as you keep up on your water changes, you'll be fine.

Just my 2 pennies.

i used a prizm skimmer on the back side of my 12g nano and it worked great. you just have to cut the lid for it to fit right but there is no pump inside the chambers in the back that bulk up the area.

just an idea.

i wouldnt say it performed as well as any other skimmers but it did work. i emptied the cup about 1 time every 2 weeks but i did weekly water changes.

One good thing to keep in mind, I think the Tunze skimmer tend to hold their value a bit better than others.
