My new tank is a 85 gallon rimless tank 36 wide and 24 deep and 22 tall
The tank is drilled and will have a refugium
i will have a ASM-G1
It will be a Mixed Reef
250 halide with t-5 supplements
The setup has been at my house for about two weeks and i have put the aquascaping but i hated it and then had another buddy stop by and i like it but i had rob (reeferrob) swing by and help me with it

LMAO, nice shots Chris!
This is some of my finest work to date I think. I went in with a plan to use acrylic rods and zip ties and other items in hopes to try some cantilevered ledges, over hang and pillars.
But once I arrived, the mojo just started flowing and I went on co-pilot. I hope you like it Chris. I think it is really going to be amazing. Once we get some sand and water in there the features will really start to pop. I feel good that we went the 'natural' route and didn't use anything artificial to scape the reef. (Other than two small balls of reef epoxy)
I feel like we did a great job at accomplishing our goals of a unique natural looking reef. With tons of passageways and nooks and crannies for fish and corals to grow and thrive. I think we did a killer job at addressing your concerns for flow restrictions at the sand bed and the back of the reef.
Don't hesitate to give me a call when it is time to install the sump, plumb it and fill that beast. We'll have to get some shots that really showcase some of the features. Im sure there will be a little fine tuning and tweaking required.
Thanks again for inviting me out, I very much enjoyed the creative release. I hope you like it and look forward to helping you and other reefers in the CR community out in the future.

Looks sweet Chris ! I wish Rob spent more time on my scaping as it looks like he did a great job with your tank. I am not not complaining about the job he did in my tank, I just think he did that much better on yours . I got a paly or two for ya when you are ready for the good stuff.;) Great job on the tank selection, I really like those dimensions. Just like Sir Mix-a-lot said 36,24,36 only if she is 5'3. Keep us posted on the progress.

After seeing your tank pete and robs i knew i had to get rob over to do the aquascaping and by the way you have to see how it looks in person WOW!!
Your tank is sweet by the way but i know you have to give rob a hard time.
I will let you know when i need to get some goodies dont worry it will be at least a month or two :fish2: before shes ready for them

This weekend i should be installing my sump, which mean i will also be filling the tank. i cant wait to get her cycling especially after getting the rock looking so nice (thanks rob!). i wanted to try something different this time starting fresh but cost effective. i am using 100% dry pohnpei rock and fresh gravel so i think the cycle will take forever, but it will be a much cheaper route than going with all live rock.

PolskaReefer
05-25-2010, 07:35 PM
rob their has been nothing to update until today. i brought home today a little high fin gobie and his little friend the tiger (tiger pistol shrimp).
i set them in a net together after acclimation and placed them next to a rock island and left the net there. the shrimp got to work right away!!! like it was his job well i guess it is, anyway 2 hours later he had four holes coming out of the rock from all different sides. the goby kept watch the whole time!! i love them really a very cool team!

Alright it has been a while but i do have some good updates :) and a bad update :( my four line Wrasse jumped out after my brother was fishing for frags and left the screen top halfway open (thanks jon jon) but its ok this gave me a chance to put a mystery Wrasse in not a bad switch, just too bad for the loss.
Here is my current fish list
3 Chromis
1 Yellow Watchman
2 Picasso Clown Fish
1 Yellow Coris Wrasse
1 Mystery Wrasse (Marshall Island Five Bar)
1 Black Blenny
1 Tomini Tang still small
1 McCoskeri Flasher Wrasse (Super Male)
Invert List
10 Certh Snails
5 Nassarius Snails
2 Mexican Turbo Snails
2 Emerald Crabs
15 Blue Legged Hermit Crabs
1 Tiger Pistol Shrimp
2 Cleaner Shrimp
Corals that i have added
Sun Corals
Four color chalice
Tyree Bubblegum Monster
Seasons Greeting monti
and a bunch of other things
I switched the 2 koralia #4's to a #2 and #3 it was just to much current for the little tank we will see if i like it because know i dont know if its enough
PolskaReefer
02-05-2011, 05:23 PM
Alright i have a few updates i went back to a koralia #4 but left the #3 in and things seem to be working out. I have two rose bubble tip anemones in the tank and i took out the larger one and put the smaller one on a separate island rock so i could have more room for corals they were just getting too big and taking up too much real estate.
After doing that i got a bunch of sps frags and put them all over things seem to be doing well
And i ordered a Controller!!!! i never thought i would say it but yes Neptune Systems Aqua Controller APEX LITE
