what type of algae is this? iv never seen it before, it feels like squashy Jello, like what those Jello squeeze balls r made of.

Its not bubble or hair algea and not that Botryocladia skottsbergii, its just weird

Its cyno- not algea, a bacteria.
The spongy jellow feeling is the air pockets inside of it. Odd growth pattern on that bit, huh?

+1 on Cyanobacteria.  I've had it in my tanks several times before, and it always seems to come back a little different than before.
