Curious to hear what others are doing to make there reefs dance?
You know, flow, move and dance?
I have a 60 gallon mixed reef. Since day one I've used a VT mp20 as my primary source for flow with a Korilla nano in the opposite bottom right corner. The VT is at about 80% on reef crest mode, and the two provide a nice gentle cyclone motion in the tank. With the return pump a QO4000 providing some additional disturbance at the surface for the SPS and my euphys! Soon I am going to be replacing my Knano with my mp10.
Im finding that as I add more corals and they grow bigger the tank requires more flow to keep everything happy and groovin'!
So what are you using, and do you plan to change anything?
If you are using a VT pump, what settings are you on and how did you decide on that mode?

I've got an MP40W for the main flow in my 75G tank, and a K2 along the back to clean up the sand behind the rocks. The MP40 is in long pulse mode at about 35% at the max with the longest period possible for the pulse. The K2 only runs for about 5 hours a day just to keep things clean back there.

i have two k4's in my 85 rimless but..... i want to try a wave box to see what it looks like and if it looks alright in a rimless. first i have to get coral in there :fish2: the tank still needs a little more time for cycling

I have a MP40 as my primay in reef crest mode @ 65% and a K4 that I run to storm the tank. I have a blueline 70 that keeps my 135 gal DT, refuge and sump circulating.

Two Koralia Evolution 1400's on the wavemaker function of a Reefkeeper Lite at 1 minute switching intervals and a closed loop with an Ocean Runner 3500 through an Oceans Motions Squirt two way into 3/4" Loc Lines in the upper back corners.
Since the timing of the two are different the flows and wave action are very random.

Added my mp10 yesterday, and boy did it make a HUGE difference. For one the amount of detritus and crap it kicked up for the skimmer to suck in was amazing. This morning the polyp extension on everything is remarkable. I love these vortechs!!

Two Mp 40's in my 60 cube . Both took a crap within two days of each other . Contacted Ecotech and their customer service is top notch. They are taking care of both problems. So actually i have currentlt one maxi jet with sureflow mod until my mp 40's get back:blackeye:

Snoop Dogg tends to make 'em pop...
for about a week now been using a Tunze 6101 controlled by a Profilux. It replaced a 6100 with the Tunze 7091 controller, which did a great job too.

Any other cube owners out there?? Curious to hear your input on placement etc.
Im thinking of adding my mP40 and ditching the mP10, what do you guys think?

I want to know what you all look for as far as far as "flow" is it a specific movement profile in the tank or what? I am running 4650 gph through a jet bar in the tank and 2 1" returns and have a lot of flow obviously but do I have enough "movement" I guess is my question.....

I am running an mp-10 on my 34 gallon. I dont have any dansing coral though- due to lack of room. Fish sure do dance though, and all corals are very happy!
Yeah- the mp10 isnt quite enough for my 34 gallon cube alone- but I still love it!!! There is no other single unit pump that will do what it does for my tank! I would love a second!!
Hint, hint reeferrob......hit me up if ya ditch that pump! Need a good excuse to check out your set up anyways.

I'm running an MP-10 in my biocube. Pretty happy with it so far. I think it is running in "tidal swell mode". I think I have the maximum swell to about half speed for the pump.

On a more serious note, I am running two K4's, one K2, and a Eihem 1260 return pump in my 90 gallon.
