Good morn'n all,
I noticed this morning that I had some foam on top of the water near the glass. I can't recall seeing it before. Any thoughts?
Thanks,

Do you have a sump? If so, it could be poor surface skimming. Meaning a portion of the surface water is blocked off from getting pulled into the overflow. An oily residue on the surface is a sure sign of this. If your return pump sucked a little air in then foam could accumulate there as well. Usually changing the direction or adding additional surface flow/agitation will correct it. Pics of the foam and a top down shot (of your aquarium, not you) with all pumps running could be helpful.

Do you skim off your surface... with an overflow?
Any chance your skimmer went nuts with micro bubbles?
BTW- When you get a chance fill out a reef showcase (Navbar-->Reef Tools -->Add/Edit Reef Info) that way we can see what all you have going with your tank without asking. Plus it's just cool... :)

Thanks for all of the good info. I checked and think it was a skimmer issue. I have a SeaClone 100 and really not sure when I have it set right. I understand most protein skimmers are difficult....for newbies!!
I'll be sure to get my tank info and photos up for future reference. Can't do it today though.
Sure is a good feeling to know you're out there! Thanks again.
