Please Help!!!

This could be an emergency but.....Ok I had a little problem this morning. Long story short just after I woke up I heard water splashing and what happened was a tube came off of a pump and started shooting water out of the tank and on to my power strips. Well I got that taken care of and now I'm noticing some voltage in the back of my tank either from the return pump or heater. It's not strong but there none the less. Do a few questions, what is the cause o this voltage? Do I need to replace where ever it's coming from? Is it ok to be used for a little longer?

Any voltage is bad. So remove the equipment that is causing this problem and replace it right away when you get an opportunity. Most probably its your heater but you will have to test it out.

You can switch off each equipment and then test, basically rule of elimination.

Ok thanks. My rooms so hot I dont even need a heater. So did the water spill ruin it?

Sounds like the water spill shorted/burned somthing out.

I agree with manoj. Unplug one and the other to rule them out.

Thanks for the replies. I realized that when I put the hood on last that I pinched the hood on the heater coard. Now I feel nothing in the water!

keep in mind some power-head such as older tunze have ground probe built into them and the power-strip itself may be shorted and causing voltage to back feed into the tank

I personally have had this happen

and since you said the water went all over the power-strip I would recommend replacing that first then testing each piece of equip for stray voltage

Yeah I'm currently not using the 2 strips that got dumped on. I tested them out and when I hit the button to turn them on I felt a little shock.
