Found a deal on eBay last night that was way too hard to resist... 300 Nassarius snails went at auction for $20, snagged then as well as two bundles each of some more macros for my planted tank, hopefully we'll end up with a near endless supply of food for our voracious tangs. The Macros are of the Gracililaria Coronopifera and Ulva Lactuca (Sea Letttuce)species Snagged the whole lot for about $75 including shipping

Now that waiting game to see with the deliveryman brings... Might take a week or two for the fella to get everything together to ship, but for that price, it's well worth the wait. The snails retail around here for close to $3 each.... If I like what I see I'll post the username of the fella I got them from for all.... or for that price I'll set up the 55g tank, order a few thousand and to keep the price dirt cheap for other folks.

Keep us posted. I have heard that Ulva is a great snack for the herbivores

Update: Shipment arrived today...

Out of the 300 Nassarius snails I ordered, only about 450 survived the trip, I lost count (more likely got lazy and quit) somewhere after 350 or so. Actually think I have a total count of 4 maybe 5 that either didn't make the trip or were empty shells beforehand. Sure beats the stuffing out of the $3 a pop for snailies from the LFS.

Macros: 2 very large bags of Gracililaria Coronopifera and good sized bags of Ulva Lactuca, had to toss a piece of the Ulva into the display just to see... Man did the Sailfin and Yellow tangs go absolutely nuts over it. The G. Coronopifera they didn't pay a lot of mind to. Myabe they were full at the moment...who knows.. At least I know it won't just spoil and create nitrates in the tank like the prepared stuff.

Still trying to sort out the an ID on the 'free gift' that was included I'll have to get a snapshot of it and see if anyone else recognizes it.

Very pleased so far :D

Well I had a lot of water to populate... the big tank, two refuges, Angel's seahorse tank, and Gabs' little 10g nano.

Fella packed them in a peculiar way, just had 100 or so in a bundle wrapped in several layers of wet paper towel with no real water in the bag. I just plopped them in a bucket of tank water and scopped them out as they sprang to life, about 2 minutes after 72 hours shipping, tough little suckers.
