hob skimmer gone crazy

Ok I need help with my eshops hob skimmer. I cant dial it back. The bubbles just keep rising way to fast. The slowest I can get it still is filling the cup with water in a few hours. Ive cleaned it twice. Ideas please.

Have you added any type of additives to the tank at all?? Anything?

There are alot of aditives/medications that will cause your skimmer to go crazy like this.

Has this skimmer been running a while, and just get out of hand? Is it newly set up?

nah ive had the skimmer about a year now. The only thing i really add to the tank is fuel.

put a little block of wood or something under the part where it hangs on so it actually bumps the skimmer up about an inch higher (the entire skimmer) and that should slow it down.

also, have you switched foods you have been feeding your fish?

i tried some lower quality brand that i have been using previously and my skimmer went nuts. after 2 days i realized it was the new food.

Fuel? As in bio-fuel?

yes bio fuel, no change in much of anything. Its seems to have settled down, but still would like to know why. I keep the block of wood in mind thank you.
