Not sure exactly where to put this one as it's actually two fold.
I know all corals look better under t5 or higher lighting. I know sellers take pic's under these lights-as do most everyone here.
How can someone such as myself choose a coral that will look *almost* as good under CF lighting as they do in the pics? Will I ever be able to own a coral that will POP?

yup, its a SUPER fast growing, low light coral perfectly suited for CF.

i would suggest adding some more actintic also. my tank that has cf also didnt pop with the reg bulbs. i havnt changed them yet but might. i have a 50/50 and a 10k.
i mostly had softies in it. furry mushrooms (rhodactis) popped well.
a totally green favia did as well.
that is all i know for sure. i would keep a 10k though or maybe a 12? just because of the growth factor.

I run 2 - 10k CFs and 2 actintic CFs on my Biocube. Looks nice during the day (I like mine a bit more white than most) and then during the sunrise/set where it's just the actintics everything pops.

On my 12 gal Nano, I have found that a 50/50 lamp works the best for growth. A good fresh lamp makes all the difference. I just changed 1 out and put just a 12K CF in. Within 2 days half of the corals looked weak and alot of zoa's and mushrooms would barely open even after 8 hours of light. With a CF you can do most of all the softies, and most LPS . I would say my Frogspawn did the best about 1/2 way up the tank, and my Xenia did the worst until it died completely.
