i think i have Aiptasia!?! what does it do to the tank??

It makes it ugly........... But hey to each his own........ some people like em.

They can also irritate/annoy nearby corals. They can spread rapidly in a tank.

i looked it up and idk if thats what i have it looks like little feather dusters on my rock with like white tubes its weird... im gonna try and get a pic

Those would actually be called tube worms. They're similar to feather duster worms but form actual hard tubes on the liverock. They're harmless and actually help remove from DOC from the water.

Looks like a Serpulidae tubeworm or fanworm to me. Harmless, in large numbers however they can be an indicator of excess nutrient levels.

Yep, I usually get an outbreak of them when I cycle a tank, you'll even get the spiral version on the back of the tank and the glass. Nothing to worry about. As Rabidgoose said they can indicate excess nutrients, but they don't harm anything so there's no need to remove them or anything drastic.
