sounds like you are just looking at cutting and bracing the legs of the stand, and reinforcing the floor, then cutting the hole in the wall and positioning the tank. it is kinda hard to see what will be involved until you get INTO the wall. probably a footer under the front end (next to the wall) of the tank. the main thing is DONT GET EXCITED !! if you get in to big of a rush, you will mess something up, (learned from exp.). second, measure twice and cut once !! i think i am gonna have to drive up !!

Dood.... that is THEE perfect idea. I was about to buy a house in Texas before I moved out here and had researched building one myself. It's very doable. If I could do it, you could do it.

I rented a storage shed for 2 months and the tank is in there right now. so the way I look at it is that I have 2 months to get this done. I think that is plenty of time to take it slow and do it right. I am hoping to get some ideas suggestions from you guys. I have allready gotten some awesome help soo far.

What's in the room with the closet? Does the tank have to be "guest viewable" or are we turning the whole thing into a fish/tank room?
Okay, I missed where you said the other side is your den.... how big of a room is it.... take some pic for inspiration of our brains.

The room with the closet is my fragroom/den so I do want it to look nice on that side too. i figure I can still use the canopy and the stand (with some minor adjustments) so from my den it will look like a nice tank, stand, canopy and the other side of wall (living room) it will be a wall tank. THOUGHTS COMMENTS????

we thought about being viewable from 3 sides but it would hinder the dining room.

I know that would be great but that is not an option but dang it would be sweet!! but I think its gonna look sharp. we went and looked at barstools and shelving for the bottom and the molding to go around the tank as well. so I think it will look very sharp
