Default Building a stand for a 180 or 220 gallon tank

I currently have a 90 gallon tank and I now wish I would have gone bigger. I'm looking at a 180 or 220 gallon tank. I'm going to build my own stand because my wife wants to do a custom paint job on it, and I want to be able to customize the stand for how I want it. I also think I can build it better and cheaper that what I would pay at a store. Does anyone have or know where I could get some kind of plan. I have a basic idea of how to support it but it would be nice to have something to work with.

    Thanks,

    joel

Check out garfreef.com for free plans. Just type in the specs for your tank and the calculator does the rest. There are other free plans on the internet. I used garfreef and tweeked it to my specs. YouTube is a great place for ideas. You can take a look at mine on YouTube. Go to YouTube and type 007jaydaddy in the search bar for a look at my DIY stand and the rest of reef007. Keep me posted on your progress.

If you need help or input feel free to ask. Good luck and have fun with it. The nice thing about DIY stands is you can build to your likes and needs.

Said you already ordered plans - maybe to late....I started here with my build - easy plan a ton of people have used - DIY Stands Template and Calculator - Reef Central Online Community

Couple tips - make sure you know what you want under your tank for sump and size, skimmer height - plus extra room for plumbing - I could have made my stand a couple inches higher made things a little easier for plumbing.

Easy to use site for measurements - help in figuring room on inside... FishandTips.com: do it yourself aquarium stands

Check out your floor is it level - I was so careful to make my stand level then the floor wasn't, you can adjust your build.
