Corals & the plugs they come on?

im okay with plugs, but my corals tank forever to over grow them cuz of my week lighting.

I simply cut the stem off and glue the plug right in with super glue gel. They quickly disappear as coraline and then the coral grows over them. I think frag plugs are and awesome tool.

I don't have a drummel so what could I use to cut the stem off? Without hurting the coral?
I thought due to my pukani rock having so many holes I wouldn't have the issue of the plugs not fitting anywhere. Not! Most of the holes are either to small or angled...

I simply snap the peg off with bone cutters. If it is an ORA plug I will cut the coral off of it but otherwise I just cut the stem.
