I'm seriously considering building my own 45g (24x24x1 cube tank. A reefer friend sent me a couple of links. One to buy the proper glass & one with directions.
My question is, is it as easy as the building instructions show? Has anyone here ever built or witnessed one being built?
Please share your experience with me. I really NEED to upgrade but am on such a tight budget. Talk about a money saving way to go bigger!

I've looked into building a tank (or two). I recall reading that building small tanks is easy and larger ones should be left to the professionals. I'm not saying it can't be done but I would rather have the peace of mind a well built tank provides. Forty five gallons of saltwater on the floor and fish/corals with no water would suck!

How much would you save if you built your own 45 gallon tank?

Why not frag some corals to get store credit towards a new tank, or try to find a used one? Don't I recall someone offering you a larger tank for a very low price awhile back?

    Keep us posted.

    Tom

    Hi Tom
Binford was gonna give me a 40 & deliver it but then his poor brother inlaw (I think) backed into it with his truck
As for our LFS I still have plans on checking with them but they are pretty expensive on their prices.
