well I'll start by saying I'm glad I found out now rather than later....
last night I turned off the pumps in my 100gal tank while I was doing some work (the chiller is still not finished and with the hood off, there are no fans to cool the water.....no fans + hot pumps = hot water)....
well since I couldn't put the hood back on last night, I figured "ehhh.....if I leave the pumps off over night nothing will go wrong......"
wow....was I ever wrong.......woke up this morning (~10hours later) to find all the damsels (which fortunately the only fish in the tank) either gasping at the top or dead on the bottom......
so I guess this shows how important water flow is......ups (uninterupted power supply) will be the next plan.....
