Sooooo i went to my local fish store and purchased some "Reef Nutrition Mysis Feast" i was anxious to get it home and try to target feed a few of my corals...i havent really been able to do it properly, but now can since i purchased a syringe also. So i get home and open the bottle...which was already unsealed...huh...and almost gag over the smell of sulfer coming out of the bottle.....and i kid you not ........as soon as i opened the bottle it was like a chemical reaction the stuff started foaming up and coming out of the bottle. Needless to say im trying to set this rediculously sulfer smelling ****tail down cuz i dont want to stink like that stuff....i mean it stinks bad....like 3 feet away you can smell it....pure sulfur...so like a dummy i think hey fish stink so this probably does too....i tried to feed the fish this stuff and everybody spit it out.....is this stuff wasted? i bought it out of a refrigerator...the date says sept 1. i really dont think its supposed to be this stinky.....any help here?
Return it to the fish store. For target feeding, I like the Oyster feast better anyway. Everything (I mean ALL corals) opens up and you can spot feed the corals regular mysis.
If the seal was broken, then it probly wont last to the date posted on the bottle. The date is normally when its best opened by, and once its opened it should be used in a timely manner. It sounds like, from your description, it has gone bad without a doubt. Sulfer is never a "good" smell.
