alright its nearing time to get a better RO storage option than just filling 5g buckets when i need it, i think it'll make top offs a bit easier and water changes more frequent.

any recommendations on what to use?

My RO runs into the top barrel with a float valve. When I am ready to mix water I fill up the trash can below where I keep a heater & power head. When I'm ready to do a water change, I have a mag pump with 50' of plastic tubing. First I drop it in the display tank and empty 2" into the toilet and then I drop the pump in the trash can & fill the tank back up.

I've always used one. There have been discussions on them possibly leaching phosphates though.

I use a cheap Rubbermaid trash can for mixing salt and a simple kitchen size can for my Ro storage/topoff water

If I was going to use a brute- I would go used....if your lucky, po4 is already leached!

Good idea. I'm taking down my tank and will sell my water changing station, pictured above, including plumbed blue barrel, stand, brute trash can and casters for $60.
