    Does Bill like coral?

Bill like splashing around in about 1/2" of salt water. He eats spectrum pellets like mad. So far he has treated the stray snail or two that my daughter has tossed in with him "as friends, not food" if I may quote a famous movie line. :-)

We just got back from vacation in the Florida Keys. A few months ago we had been given a location for doing some wild harvest of coral and fish, and our plan was to bring back some livestock.

Collection was not as successful as hoped, as we did not find the exact location for getting the planned gorgonians and other invert life. We wound up collecting several small snails and crabs, along with 4 small fish, which we put into empty Vitamin Water bottles. We also collected a pair of larger 4" crabs (one land, one marine) which we placed in sandwich bags.

Of course, I got stopped by TSA; told them that the process was ok for livestock per TSA regs. After a LONG wait, the supervisor let me go through.

It was a long nite, as out plan was approaching Metro when the big storms hit. After circling for 45 minutes, we were diverted to Cleveland where we refueled and waited out the storm. We eventualy landed after 1 am.

The REAL excitement was about 8:30 pm when my daughter looked in our livestock sack, pulled out an empty bag, and said "DAD! LOOK!" It seems that Bill, an angry 4" land crab, figured out how to open the sandwich bag and get out.

So there we are, 8:30 at night, a completely packed plane, and our crab, a bright orange nasty and feisty critter, is under somebody's seat. I am envisioning the TSA escorting me off the plane when we land.

Fortunately, I found him a few seats away, and discretely (as possible) crawled on the floor and hand caught him on the second attempt. The best moment was going to a 15 year old girl and telling her "pardon me but something of mine just rolled under your seat. But please, don't look down."

So, this post is NOT being made from the Wayne County jail!
    what a great story....crab under the seat......lol
where did you attempt to collect while there.....the reason being is we have a small trailer in marathon........and i think im gonna give it a whirl eventually.
