Default Green star polyp not doing so well

Last night I noticed that my green polyp rock whish is usually very open had a spot about 1/2 in across where all the polyps where closed. I moved them a little so maby they would have better current. I came home from work and now there is anoter spot the same size on the other side of the rock. The closed polyps look a little darker than the rest which are BRIGHT green. I spot feed every polyp so I know that they where ok before this.

    Any help is appriciated,

    JOJO:confused5:

i had the same problem with mine. i had a huge piece so i busted it apart along time ago the two littler (and when i say littler i mean littler) are doing fine but the large one isn't doing so well. i was told my the not so local fs to dose with iodine... it has been a week and they seem to be doing better.

i also dose Iodine, especially after fragging. as Iodine helps with the healing process. i would recommend dosing with Iodine and giving it a couple weeks to see it helps the GSP to heal. sounds like something might be chomping on them or irritating them.

i have no shrimp in my tanks. IMO most shrimp are to much trouble in a reef. they have a tendancy to nip and pinch things so i just stay away from them all together.

i'm sad... i always kind of hoped my clowns would host in them... i thought it would be pretty... but alas my clowns have made friends with a bit of dead coral
