Default HOW TO: Feed and drain tank UNDER sump???

So I am going to put my sump in the basement, but to lessen the head, I am going to make the sump as high as possible. This in turn will allow for room under the sump which I would like to put a frag tank in. How the heck could I feed and drain a tank UNDER the sump properly? I cant think of a good way that wouldn't possibly overflow or possibly run a pump dry.

Thanks for the help peeps!

After some thinking.... Maybe it would be smarter to make my "sump" bigger and put a small propagation chamber in it, something like 18x18. That way I wouldn't have to worry about more pumps and plumbing.

Ideas?

You are on the right track Adam. The propagation chamber sounds cool. Bigger is always better.

I would suggest putting it at a convenient height to allow for future modifications and ease of maintenance. Use a pump with enough head pressure so it wont be a problem and I would use a separate frag tank and gravity feed back into the sump.

Its in a 8' basement so when I said higher I meant on a table that is maybe 3'-4' high and not of the floor which would leave room under the table.

Perfect....separate tank gravity fed back into the sump is my vote.
