Default How to kill mushrooms?

Bought some live rock from a fellow reefer and its infested with mushrooms. How do I kill them? They seem to be popping up everywhere.

If there's nothing else on the rock, you could just throw it in the oven for a while around 400

I don't want my tank to spike. So I really don't want to cook the rock.

well how much rock did you buy with mushrooms on it? how much lr do you already have in your tank? if you are talking about cooking a 5-10lb rock and have quite a bit of lr in there.....it shouldn't be an issue

Could always cut them off, making sure to scrape the area they were at very well, to prevent them from resprouting. Then you could give them away pretty easily.

Preuss in Lansing will trade you an equal size piece of live rock for the piece you want to get rid of full of mushrooms. If you don't care about saving them, take out your swiss army knife, put the rock in a bucket and have at it!

I had the same issue with some superman shrooms~freaking weeds. I took the rock out and scraped them off~but beware they smell horrible!!

Wow thanks everyone. I didn't know Pruess did that. I have about 50 pounds covered on red brown and purple mushrooms. There are also tone of green palys.
