Default Lemon trach losing flesh

I just got this about a week ago and I noticed this today. The flesh coming off this one spot and a small area on the other side. Everything else looks good on it and it ate like a champ this week. Is it in trouble or does it do that when growing/splitting.

Generally not a good sign. But since its new it may just be adjusting to your tank/ showing signs of damage from transport. I would suggest making sure that no other coral is stinging it, no fish are nipping at it and continue to feed a little bit of food every couple of days.

HTH,
Tom

No I'm not. We transferred from a 46 to this 75 last week.

Ok. I'll keep an eye out. The rest I got from that shipment seem fine. I fed it for the first time last night too. I'm a little stumped. thanks for the info

With my cyclosirus(plate coral) when it showed skeleton I fed it well and it grew back over the exposed area. Feed it little bits (easy to digest) daily untill you notice it healing up.

+ Keep it away from chalices and acan echinadas.

Feed it regularly once 4-5 days. Medium light and low flow.

If you see that the tissue loss is increasing then there is a possibility of pest. Incase of pest the loss of the coral will be rapid, more like overnight or in two days.

Could it be sand irritating it? My goldenface goby drops a lil sand on it everyday. I'm going to move it and see if that helps. Thanks again everyone for your input.

When I moved it I saw a lite bit of sand where the flesh is coming up. I shook it gently to get it off and when it came off some flesh was kind of stuck to it so I'm almost sure it was the sand being dropped on it. I hope it comes around. The tear goes to it's mouth.

Just a quick update. It did eat last night and no change good or bad on it's flesh as of yet. It does have a bit of a saggy look so some parts of it's flesh if that means anything. I took a couple more pics today to show a couple angles that I'll add in a bit.
