Default Lid thoughts for my biocube

so im getting sick of my biocube lid and am thinking of replacing it. is there any cool
options out there? i wich they made t5 for the bio, maybe theres on the correct lenghth?
also any experence with the halide lid out there?

you could always make a mesh lid and set your lights over it

well ive always been a fan of complete sutom frankeinstien.i was think to get the hqi lid and putting a t5 over that if that makes sense.

there are always options! have you checked out the nano build contest going on? browsing through some of those builds may inspire an idea or three.

how many gallons in your tank? what type of light requirements are you trying to reach? are you sticking to a lid design or considering an open tank?

i have a 26gal cube with a pendant fixture that works very well .. something like this:
tank5 - Lid thoughts for my biocube
but it is only a 55 watt 2C compact fluorescent. the tank is a brackish set up to house a green spotted puffer only, and doesn't require much lighting.

there are MH pendants very similar in style available also .. and don't forget the LED options!

if you're going with a lid set up, are you building something or buying premade?

i used my lfs to figure it out. im getting a double reef bright and getting a peice of glass cut to fit the top. its going to look really good if i pull it off right
