    Default NEW FRAG TANKS

Well I posted earlier that I was redoing the frag tanks. I had the rubbermaid tubs and they werent too bad but ran into a lot of problems with them. so now I got 2x50 gallon tanks and got the first one up and stocked a couple of days ago. these tanks will not run a sump there will be almost zero bioload they each have a coral life superskimmer on them and lit by 2x250 Watt MH with actinics on each tank. I love the way they turned out. I built racks out of PVC and eggcrate. they will be very easy to manage. here are some pics.

I built supports on the bottom of the PVC and then used some aquarium sealant and they are very sturdy, and I built brackets that the shelves hang on. they work great

    Thumbs up AWESOME!

Now that's a frag tank! What would be cool to add to a design like yours there Greg, is to find the side supports that would allow you to slide the racks from front to back. You could get almost double the amount of frags in that tank. You know what I mean? From the side view, you would have a rack of frag on each side of the tank from top to bottom. Bring whichever shelve forward that you need a frag from etc. It sure would be easy to do with egg crate shelves. You would have to look around for side supports that would allow a nice sliding action to the shelves. I love that tank though. I would take it in a heart beat...all stocked and ready to go! *wink* ...Angel :angel1:
