I started a live brine shrimp culture two days ago, and fed the baby clowns live baby brine shrimp yesterday evening and they went crazy! They loved the new and bigger food source. I'm happy to see things going so well. The Last I counted there was still just over 20 babies. I need to do a water change in the tank today, Tuesday was just so busy at the store i didn't end up having time to get to it, and I still left at 8:30. Iadded carbon to the tank to get it clean now that the babies will be getting into the settlement phase pretty soon. i also added three drops of Blackwell elemental to give them some vitamins to help in the settlement phase. i hope things continue to go well for the fishies.
I did a water change on the tank and instead of unplugging the heater i just turned it down to off and then turned it back on. i't s a really old heater and has a dial that you turn on top and it doesn't tell you what temp it goes up to. I thought i had it up high enough. the next day i got there and the tank is only at 67 degrees, neddless to say i have now lost a few of the babies. but i got the temp back up 78 today, so hopefully things will get better.
I feel your pain. I hate heaters! On a side note, you might want to raise the temp a bit, you'll get better growth. I raise mine at ~82F and have nice results. Great job! I only got 2 on my first attempt.
I was so excited today. I stopped in at the store and fed the little babies, and noticed that a few of them are swimming like normal clowns!!!! hurray!. There was also one that was yellow in color. I don't know if i am mistaken but i still really don't see a first stripe showing up yet. I see a silver belly but that's all. I'll have to try to take some better pictures tomorrow.
