Breeding Journal: amphiprion clarkii

I pushed the temp up on tank and it is at 82.4 this morning. fish are doing great. I went to turn the dial down to 80 and there was a baby clown sittin' on top of the heater with two stripes!!! I was just awed at it. It was soooo cute!!! I couldn't help but laugh out loud, luckly there were no customers in the store to think i'm weird. upon further investigation two fish have their head stripes and like i said before there is one or two that is yellow in color. things are going well.

I still have 11 babies. Four of them still do not have their stripes yet. Lost one of the yellow ones, but still have one left. started a new batch of baby brine shrimp. last time i made a new batch, what of the eggs that were stuck to my finger I brushed off into my rotifer bucket. today when i went to feed the babies, in the foam cup there were 10 or so baby brine shrimp. So cool, i got a good mixture to feed the fish!
When should i try to start feeding frozen foods? a while yet?

soo cute i love baby clowns!

I went and fed the baby fishies this morning and i have 8 babies that all of their stripes and the other 4 have their head stripes. They are now swimming in groups of 4 or 6 and i'm sure pecking orders are going to start and i'll have to seperate a few of them like Tal does. But all in all things are still going well.

Heres the babies getting moved to their new tank, an 8 gallon nano. step mom needs to make room for more babies this weekend.

well the little guys are now 41 days post hatch and doing great. i did end up loosing the little runt, Just as i was telling Tal Sweet that it was doing great despite it's size.
