I was trying to feed the babies the Otohime A and didnt offer any rotifers (because i didn't have any) and wanted to see if they would take to it and they seemed to do decent for a bit but evetually all ended up dying off. so . . . NEED ROTIFERS!! lol. I just got a shipment in 2 minutes ago of rotifers. so i'm ready for the next batch!

New set of fry are due to hatch today, but of course I have to work today. I am going to turn off the fuge lights early to see if I can get them to hatch before I leave for work, if not then I will leave the light on til I get home and collect the fry then.

yes another batch is ready. I got two out this morning so when I get home today I will turn the lights off and try again.I have my greenwater tank set up filled with rotifers waiting when I get home.
Survival rates are all different each time. It depends on the health of the broodstock, health of the tank, health of the food, what you feed the larva and how much, and just the larva themselves.
I raised 10 clarkiis from 70 that hatched, I raised 49 ocellaris from 80 that hatched, then I raised nothing on the 100+ percula fry from last month, and raised nothing on two attempts at lyretail damsels.
Theres a lot of factors that determine success rates and its always different. If everything is automated or you're very precice about everything then maybe you would be able to get an average success rate.

Yesterday late night I pulled 35 larva from the tank and this morning I pulled 73 for a total of 103 (give or take). they are in greenwater with rotifers this time. I left the light on last night so the larva can get some good food into their bellies.
heres a picture of the fry in the bucket this morning.

Percula babies are doing well. I had to do a water change on monday ecause the rotigreen started turning brown. I only have 6 babies left. I 'm unsure of why I only have 6 but 6 is better than nothing at all. Babies are fat and healthy. Heres a video I took today.

It is so freakin' hard!! I'm using my husbands canon Rebel T2i with a marco lens. To get a video and keep it in focus I needed to have it on manual focus. As the fish moves I have to refocus every time.
