Tested my water yesterday cal=440. Mixed up new batch=460. Just now checked tank several hours after WC and my cal=400. I tested it 3 times using API.
Where's my calcium? Kh=7. Ph=8.2

Strange and . . . .I don't know
I had a problem in the past with my calcium.
I couldn't figure it out, until I started growing mass amounts of Halimeda. My gravel/crushed coral substrate was mostly the cause for that.
Now lately my calcium intake is such I only add it twice a week! I think my squamosa clam must have stopped growing.
Do you have any clams in the tank? I've heard that the gigas are enough that even a calcium reactor can't keep up at times.
Geeez sometimes I wonder if I even have 1 oar in the water-would a lower sg possible have something to do with a lower cal reading-sg=1.023 and cal=400?
