Default cycleing

I just got my RO/DI system and i will begin filling up my tank this weekend i've heard that you could use a cocktail shrimp to help start the cycling i was wondering if a small peice of raw fish like cod would do the same

U don't have to add anything to cycle your tank, just put your LR in saltwater and you'll be fine. There's enough die-off on most LR so no need to add any extra "dead stuff" IMO.

Default cycling

I definitily agree. All my live rock only had a 45 minute ride home and was supposedly cured but there was definitly enough die-off to cycle a tank.
